Getting to the Event

Brisbane is Australia's new world city. The city offers a wide range of ways to see Brisbane City and help you arrive at your race with minimal stress and the convenience of our extensive public transport network. From the moment you arrive in Brisbane, let our friendly community make your trip worry-free.

Event finish precinct

The official Brisbane Marathon Festival event precinct is at the City Botanic Gardens. The event precinct will be your best location to store baggage, access toilets and find information about your event.

As road closures will be in place for the event, we recommend seeking parking arrangements prior to race day (see below) and walking to the finish precinct.

Already in Brisbane?

Starting at Margaret Street, participants can enjoy convenient access to the start line from the City Botanic Gardens. Access to the start line on Margaret Street will be via Albert Street. Road closures will be in place from 3:00am. Please ensure you check the official road closures here.

Public transport

Public transport is a great option for the 10km, 5km and 2km events with arrival times from around 7:00am for buses and ferries.

Please note, Translink have advised that the inner-city rail network will be closed over the event weekend for maintenance. Shuttle buses will be replacing all trains. Click here to access the Translink journey planner.

Ride & Park

Why not cycle into the event and use this as your warmup? You can park and lock your bike at bike racks, bike shelters and cyclepods at destinations around Brisbane. Find more information here Bike parking and facilities | Brisbane City Council
