Runners – we are aware of the enthusiasm you all have to run with us in Brisbane this year, and we thank you for committing to this goal.

You will appreciate that COVID-19 is significantly changing the landscape for mass participation events, globally. Your health and safety is our primary concern, and in this ever changing situation, along with guidance from public health agencies and government authorities, we regret to inform you that the McDonald’s Brisbane Marathon Festival will not take place as planned on 7 June, 2020.

After considerable thought, we will be offering athletes the following options:

–        Participation in a virtual run in your selected distance; to include your event medal and finisher gifts, or

–        Deferral of your entry to next year’s event on 6 June 2021

Further details to follow.

We sincerely apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience this may cause. It has been an incredibly hard decision for us, but in the current climate, one we trust is right for your safety – and the safety of all volunteers, spectators and staff involved in event day.

We do indeed appreciate your support through this challenging period and we hope to see you at future editions of our events. At this time, our 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival and 7 Cairns Marathon Festival events remain unaffected.

Please bear in mind the high levels of enquiries we are receiving at the moment – we will endeavour to respond as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience in this difficult time.
